What's the India-Map?

Map, is the most fundamental method of representing Geographical data on paper. From the simplest of back-of-the-envelope maps to complex Cartographic and nowadays Satellite generated Maps all convey Geospatial information. Information related to physical features, topographical features, lithographical features, economic and infrastructural information; all can be conveyed by a Map.

But Maps are much more! From the earliest of Mercator's Projection map to politically motivated maps prepared by countries in the present time, Maps convey power and prestige!

In the context of International World Order, boundaries on map are like the 'Lakshman Rekha', Sacrosanct. Skirmishes, conflicts, battles and even full scale wars have been fought in the human history if an attempt is made to change the map boundaries.

In the Indian context we have fought 4 major wars with our neighbours whenever an attempt has been made in the past to unilaterally change the map boundaries. The Indian Armed Forces give their blood and sweat to protect the sanctity of these lines

In addition to importance of the lines on the Maps, Maps also convey information. With a country of 1.3 billion and the diversity of landform, climate, people, food, culture, India is truly unparalled. It is said, to know India, it is to be experienced!
